Our Story

How we started our journey

  • An Egyptian non-profit society that was originally founded in the Year 2000 at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt
  • Active members include virologists working at universities, research institutions, regulatory agencies, national and international organizations in Egypt and abroad.
  • ESV is a member of the World Society for Virology
  • ESV encompasses multiple disciplines of relevance to biology and control  of viruses of medical, veterinary, plant, insect, bacterial, fungal importance, and prions
  • Journal of Virological Sciences is the official journal of ESV
