Our Story
How we started our journey
- An Egyptian non-profit society that was originally founded in the Year 2000 at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt
- Active members include virologists working at universities, research institutions, regulatory agencies, national and international organizations in Egypt and abroad.
- ESV is a member of the World Society for Virology
- ESV encompasses multiple disciplines of relevance to biology and control of viruses of medical, veterinary, plant, insect, bacterial, fungal importance, and prions
- Journal of Virological Sciences is the official journal of ESV
Our Mission
is to Help Egyptian Virologists By:
- Promoting exchange of information
- Encouraging collaboration between virologists nationally and internationally
- Advancing the science & art of virology in Egypt
- Supporting and promoting virology education & training at beginners and advanced levels
- Encouraging publication and knowledge dissemination
- Providing advice to policymakers
- Offering guidance during outbreaks
What do we do ?
ESV is a multidisciplinary organization that provides a forum for all investigators on viruses of medical, veterinary, and plant importance.
- ESV organizes an international conference once every two years
- Regular seminars on emerging topics
- Hands-on training
- Continuing education workshops
- Publish the peer-reviewed Journal of Virological Sciences
