Opportunity for plant virologists

Opportunity for plant virologists

As one of our valued partner societies, we would like to draw your attention to an excellent international career development opportunity that may be of particular interest to early- and mid-career plant virologists and plant health professionals in Egypt.
Dr. Samar Sheath is a brilliant and distinguished plant virologist, widely recognized as one of the rising stars in the field, and serves as a member of the World Society for Virology (WSV) Training and Career Development Committee. She recently brought to our attention the EPPO Secondment Fellowship Program which aims to strengthen international collaboration in plant health by supporting professional secondments in another country or organization.
The fellowship is designed to enable plant health professionals from the EPPO region to gain valuable international experience through temporary placements abroad. It specifically targets professionals in the early and middle stages of their careers, helping them enhance their scientific expertise, expand their professional networks, and strengthen their long-term capacity to contribute to international cooperation in plant health and plant protection.
We believe this program represents an outstanding opportunity for Egyptian plant virologists and plant health specialists to broaden their scientific experience, establish international collaborations, and contribute to advancing plant biosecurity at both the national and international levels.
We would greatly appreciate your disseminating this opportunity through your society's communication  among your members working in plant virology, plant pathology, agricultural biotechnology, and related disciplines.
We look forward to working together to create more opportunities for virologists all over the world.
